There are 8 billion people on this planet, and we are all the same, yet different. It is critically important that young children are aware of the immense diversity! In this theme, we invite you to examine folk: folk art, folk music, folktales, folk dancing, folk recipes, and the flags of the countries that define us. Help your child learn more about themselves and their neighbors on Earth as you dance and say hello in different languages!

Are you the kind of folk who like easy lesson planning? Well, our activities use simple, crafty materials you likely have around the house. Plus, you’ll be relieved to find the done-for-you printable materials inside the packet: just print, cut and start teaching!

  1. Karina

This has been one of our favourite themes. We listened to the folk music for months afterwards and the Stone Soup story was repeated over and over again. This was such a fun theme.

  2. Naomi

The FOLK theme felt like a celebration of people and culture. The lessons naturally flow from one to the next, and have been a spring board for introducing many other activities and discussions. Definitely not one to miss!
