This is an amazing course that gives you all you need to know to homeschool your little ones. Aubrey gives the perfect balance of structure and flexibility to make it the perfect fit for each family. One of the most amazing things about this course is the life time access to the content. When Aubrey updates the program, you have access to those improvements!

  2. Vanesa

It is such a complete course and so adaptable to each type of family, even living in very different countries! It gives you the tools to follow each child and adapt to their interests and pace. Aubrey also transmits so much peace, calm and affection in everything she does, that she helps us parents to do better every day! And the good thing is that you have the material for life, you can buy it beforehand and prepare, and then take it up again when the kids are of age and do the activities with them. Simply wonderful. I recommend it 100%❤️

  3. Beth

Aubrey is amazing and the content was easy to follow. It was only as time consuming as I wanted it to be/could get through the basic material pretty quickly and then dive deeper if I wanted to/had time. I love that I have the content forever/can come back to review things. Aubrey has great ideas and awesome support for people new to Montessori. 100% recommend if you have a 1-5 year old, or will have a 1-5 year old in your life. Don’t need to be homeschooling to benefit from this material. Thank you Aubrey for putting this together and for being an amazing human!

  4. Laura

Thus course was instrumental in jump starting my comprehension of implementing and practicing Montessori in our home with our own child, and I cannot recommend it enough. Alongside the supportive and nurturing community that Aubrey has created, the gentle nudges and reminders helped me to stay inspired and curious. You can read all the Montessori books but nothing beats having access to a real-time community to support your learning.

  5. Melissa D.

As an AMS elementary teacher, I found this primary program to be comprehensive and thoughtful. I am continuously impressed with Aubrey Hargis and her level of knowledge and commitment to promoting accessible Montessori education.

  6. Brigid

I really enjoyed this course!! She does a wonderful job of giving you all the small details but at the same time making it so simple!! It gave me relief that montessori doesn’t have to be complicated and I love the tools she provided! I will be using them for years to come!

  7. Darlene Jimenez

This course is very informative and the best one out there to get your foot in the door with Montessori education. I love being able to come back and refresh! I would 100% recommend this course to any mom out there wanting to educate their littles at home!

  8. Cecily

This was just what I needed to feel confident homeschooling my child (who was 4.5 when I took the course). The information is clear, organized and presented in a fun and encouraging way. I loved following along with the pacing guide and participating on the group discussions in the online community. The community is the kindest and most supportive group I’ve ever known! Based on my experiences in Primary and Constellation, I’m looking forward to taking the elementary program in the fall.

  9. Milly

This course literally changed my life. It is so extensive and simple at the same time. You get to learn all the main Montessori activities in order but also you learn to let go and follow your family and that was what made me think I can actually homeschool my kids. I’m actually re-enrolling because I know I could learn more this time around.

  10. Maryam Rastin

It is obvious that an ENORMOUS amount of love, time and energy went into these courses. They are worth every penny and more! The videos are super helpful and the lessons are thorough and engaging!

I signed up in the middle of the pandemic when numbers were high and I wanted to keep my daughter at home to be safe. Before taking this course, I’d read a few Montessori books but didn’t really understand how to apply the ideas with daily consistency. This program made the theoretical practical finally gave me a process for HOW to handle the day to day with my toddler. I’m no longer stuck wondering what to do next. Now she’s not at home any more, it still helps me plan the weekends and off days so they are aligned with her interests.

In a world that can feel so overwhelming when it comes to education and what “education” even means, I found peace and solace at Homeschool of the Redwoods. It started with listening to the podcast, and later reading Aubrey’s books; it didn’t take long for me to feel like I’d found the right place for my daughter and I. Aubrey keeps things simple, gentle, and always so genuine. I’ve never felt overwhelmed throughout my studies here, and I’ve actually felt empowered, inspired and connected! It’s been the greatest gift; taking this course and connecting with this community. I’ve made beautiful connections with like-minded people, I’ve learned more about myself and my daughter, I’ve gained confidence and courage to pursue this homeschooling journey, and more than anything I’ve found a community of which I feel immense pride to be a part of. I can’t wait to see what the future holds and what fun things we will learn together. I cannot recommend this beautiful community and Primary course enough!

  13. Cynthia M

The primary course taught me HOW to implement the Montessori method in my homeschool. It provided excellent support and feedback. It’s taught me how to teach AND provides a 3 year curriculum that I’ve used for both my children.

  14. Becca

I am beyond grateful this course exists! After accidentally discovering homeschooling during the pandemic shutdown, we realized how amazing it is… but I didn’t know how to continue my children’s Montessori education at home. This course, along with the Elementary course, gave me the background and courage to take the leap. For what it’s worth: I also invested the time in the AMI Orientation courses for 3-6 and 6-12, which served as a nice complement… but of course doesn’t tell you how to implement the methods in a home environment. Aubrey’s expertise, confidence, and encouragement was essential to me feeling like I could do this!

  15. Rachel

This is such a wonderful program and can give anyone the confidence to homeschool in the early years. This program contains everything you need to get started from materials lists to document templates to detailed explanations of the activities. Do yourself a favor and take this course!

  16. Luciana Fernandes Clarke

The course helped me to finaly understand that principles are more important than the standard classroom materials when it comes to homeschooling and that I don’t need to be an exquisite DIYer either. I leanerd to find the balance between acquiring materials and making them myself when I realised that I as a parent, I know my child best and can teach him the principles behind the materials and activities without the constraints of a classroom. I gained clarity regarding the pacing and progression of the “curriculum” and that “follow the child” comes first and the curriculum is there to scaffold the process.

If you’re looking to educate your children the Montessori way, this course is an essential resource! The Homeschool of the Redwood’s approach is phenomenal and definitely a labor of love. I learned so much about the methodology, materials, planning/giving lessons, and implementing Montessori in the home environment. Aubrey’s coaching has been incredibly empowering and life changing for me. She has given me the confidence to embark on a life long journey of being a Montessorian.

I took this course in early 2022, with a 3 year old. I really loved it and continue to go back and review the resources as my kiddo gets older. It starts with a foundation of what Montessori is, encouraging you to read and observe and reflect, and then moves into the different subject areas, sharing a foundation of each of them so I could understand the core Montessori approach for each subject. For each subject, there are videos, and a written curriculum that describes what makes up each lesson. This written curriculum, which has different levels and categories for each subject, is what I most often go back to in order to do big-picture monthly planning and read about the details of different lessons. There is also a great community part of this – this course comes with regular discussion questions for the topics that we cover (just for people in the Primary class), and we could ask anything of the community and get some amazing support and resources from other people. The full community also includes the other parents who are in Constellation (which I’m currently in) and the Lower Elementary class, so you can get a lot of perspectives from people who have been doing this for years. Aubrey is gentle and encouraging and really encourages you to meet your child where they’re at – to help them build the foundations they need in a developmentally appropriate way, rather than trying to rush them through anything. You can see her love of Montessori shine through, but she’s not strict or fussy about doing things The Official Right Way – she encourages us to adapt things to our own families and seek out a wide variety of resources from different sources and philosophies. I’m very glad I did this course. Do be aware it’s a pretty intensive experience if you’re trying to participate fully in every part on the schedule that it’s offered – and also that you can do it at the pace you want. You have lifetime access to the instructional/demo videos and all the written curriculum and learning journals, and 6 months for the community access and coaching videos made just for your group, so there is an opportunity to do it at a slower pace and catch up over time.

Thoughtful, thorough and true to Montessori curriculum! I’m so glad I took the primary course. It helps me feel confident in my homeschool journey and has allowed me to relax into it. Aubrey is genuine and makes homeschooling approachable. The course is extensive and I have been using the curriculum since my daughter, now 5.5, was 2. You go back to it over and over again for more insight as your child grows through these early years. I’ve loved it so much that I plan to take lower elementary and continue on this journey with Aubrey!

Before taking Aubrey’s primary course, I had been trying to piece together what a Montessori education looked like. I purchased some books and was following a lot of influencers but I could tell I needed more support. I decided to take what felt like a leap by taking the primary course and I’m so glad I did! The course is really thought out and has given me the foundation I needed to become a prepared adult. I have been implementing the program for about a year and a half now with three young children and it has been so much fun to learn how to observe all that they are doing so I can support them. I plan on taking the lower elementary course as well. Thanks Aubrey!

Where to start? Homeschool of the redwoods gave me confidence and hope! I was already familiar with basic Montessori philsophy and works. My oldest attended a Montessori Primary school before the pandemic. When Pandemic hit, I homeschooled my newly 5 and 3 year olds while waiting for the newborn to arrive. Once he arrived, I started reading every resource I could find on the internet while up late nursing. I found some incredible free resources. I would take furious notes, watch videos on lessons, search for more, take more notes. I had digital folders neatly organized with everything I could need. I gave myself a gradual budget for purchasing works, tried to determine ways to DIY what I could. I was essentially setting up a full-on preschool in my own home. However, I was SOOOO overwhelmed. I wanted to do it all. Afraid in my newborn brain fog that I would forget things and my children would miss out on crucial milestones. I did my very best for a year. THEN I serendipitously found Child of the Redwoods. I thought very hard about the course. I had already spent a lot of money on materials, and soooo much time (time I will never recover) reading and setting up my own collection of lessons to study and present. I really had way too much information. I messaged with Aubrey several times before finally taking the plunge. She was so kind, helpful, and extremely knowledgeable. She never once made me feel like she was trying to sell me on the course. She was patient and loving with every message. I finally decided to take the plunge and I wish I could proclaim from the rooftops “YOU MUST TAKE THIS COURSE”. Aubrey is more than qualified (former public school teacher, former Montessori instructor, masters in education, author, and on and on). The materials serve as a wonderful guide for those who need order and rules in their lives, but are extremely flexible to allow you to skip around as you follow your child(ren). If you are here reading this, you NEED this course. It is equally helpful for Montessori novices as well as experience Montessori practicing families. There is an appropriate challenge for every person who is ready to homeschool. Sign up NOW! Also, the platform “Might Networks” is wonderful and easy to use. No facebook distractions. Aubrey and David have created a masterpiece and thought of everything. DO IT! You will Never regret it.

I just finished up the Primary course and it was great! I allowed the time to fully engage, committing early mornings and evenings to the content, assignments and community discussions, which I think is beneficial to get the most out of the course (but not necessary as you can self-pace). I feel like I have a much better understanding of curriculum building and how to plan each day/week/month. I was overwhelmed with what Montessori materials I needed, but in each subject area that was directly addressed and discussed. So now I have a very clear understanding of what is needed as well as ways to use what I already have at home, or how to DIY items, or where to buy items. Aubrey and David very kindly provide an affordable way to extend their immense knowledge to us to be able to homeschool with confidence and I cannot thank them enough!
