Glowing pink sunrises and fiery orange sunsets are some of the most beautiful natural experiences that we are all able to witness. This rhythm carries us from day to day, month to month, and year by year. Give your child the gift of the wisdom of the Sun – what it is made of scientifically, how it nourishes plant and animal life, and how meaningful it is to us as humans. Teach your child how to protect their skin from the UV rays, bask in the warmth of golden sunlight, and celebrate the passage of time!

Just as the Sun wordlessly offers you Vitamin D for minimum effort, these easy Montessori lessons use simple, crafty materials you likely have around the house. Plus, you’ll be relieved to find the done-for-you printable materials inside the packet: just print, cut and start teaching!

CUSTOMER VOICES

“We loved the bright fruit soup, and were especially enamored with the dragon fruit. We used the empty shell to make yogurt parfaits and while eating them, researched where dragon fruit comes from and if we could grow our own.” – Samantha

“My daughter loved this, and so did I! It’s such a beautiful lesson. She’s been using a flashlight to understand the way the sunlight affects day and night around the world and wanted to use it again to represent the Sun. She had so much fun going around the Sun and seeing her years marked in time with pictures.” – Naomi

“I was shocked how easily my 3.5 was able to sequence the thermic jars, given that they tend to confuse hot and cold in daily life! Super cool.” – Sal & Abby

This was a great summertime set of activities to do with the 3.5 year olds. The thermic bottles placed in different areas inside and outside our house were one of our favorites, we were able to do some basic steps of the scientific method and see what happened, and then used what we learned to come up with our own ideas like seeing how quickly wet washcloths could dry in the sun, shade and indoors. We also liked the sun prints, which we did using some construction paper and toys we had lying around, and the celebration of life was a really fun way to talk about the solar system and seasons and time and show pictures of the girls growing up.

The Constellation booklists are worth it and stand alone. This is an awesome homelife enrichment program.

My children, 2.5 and 6.5 loved the Sun verb game. We hiked to the top of a mountain and then acted out the different words using an orange scarf as the sun shone upon us. It was fun learning we could all do together.
